The moment PromptRead launches, it scans for connected displays. A green indicator confirms your secondary VGA output is detected — no manual configuration needed.

The top bar shows your live status (Standby / On Air / Paused / Complete), license state, and quick-access buttons for Script import, Output toggle, and Reset.

The left sidebar is your full control centre. Type or paste your script directly, import from a .txt file, then hit Load & Send — text appears on both screens immediately.

Below the script editor, all performance controls are within reach: scroll speed, font size, bold text toggle, and a full colour palette for text and background.

Operator Preview

Operator preview — normal readable view

The large central area shows a live scaled preview of exactly what the VGA output displays. The operator reads and monitors the script in normal (non-mirrored) text at all times.

Red arrows on the left and right mark the centre reading line — the line the talent is currently reading on the teleprompter glass. The progress bar shows script position with click-to-seek.

  • Preview is pixel-synced to the output — same word, always

Live Styling

Colour, bold & font size — live on both screens

Any change you make — font size, colour, bold — is reflected immediately on both the operator preview and the VGA output. No reload or resend required.

In this example, coral text with bold enabled and font size at 126px — ideal for fast-paced broadcasts where talent is further from the glass.

  • All styling changes apply to both screens simultaneously

VGA output — automatically mirrored for the glass

The secondary display shows text flipped horizontally. When this screen faces the semi-transparent teleprompter glass in front of your camera, the talent reads it correctly — no adjustments needed.

The output runs fullscreen at your display's native resolution. Two red arrows mark the centre reading line, giving talent a clear focal point at all times.
